The 2023 AAAAI Annual Meeting facilitates our role as a bridge that connects the building community with the medical community
The annual conference of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology – AAAAI (AAAAI 2023) is an important date in the ASL diary. AAAAI is the leading membership organization of more than 7,000 allergists and immunologists and is patients’ trusted resource for allergies, asthma and immune deficiency disorders. Their annual meeting brings together thousands of allergists, immunologists and related healthcare professionals for four full days of offerings on a variety of topics including allergic disease, asthma, immunotherapy and new technologies. The attendees all have a special interest in the research and treatment of allergic and immunologic diseases. This offers a perfect opportunity to fulfil our role as a bridge between building professionals and medical professionals, their patients and consumers, by meeting with many of the people involved in cutting edge research into asthma and allergies.
The holistic nature of the ASL philosophy means that our relationships with trade associates such as the National Association of Home Builders and with medical groups like the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology – AAAAI are imperative to increasing the awareness of the asthma & allergy friendly Certification Program and ultimately of improving health and wellness for all in the built environment.
The timing of the meeting is precipitous as our team has just arrived home from an extensive US Trade Mission where we met with many of our clients in the building industry at the NAHB IBS and KBIS and witnessed the best practice for healthy indoor environments from the vantage point of the design and building professionals. To now look at the built environment from the perspective of the health professionals is hugely valuable and enables us to connect the two industries. We firmly believe that to advance the knowledge around indoor air we must adopt a multidisciplinary, integrated approach and ASL, through our standards and certification, our academy and our institute, are perfectly positioned to act as this bridge between these two approaches to healthy indoor air.
