3M Team at the AHR
At a very busy AHR Expo in Atlanta Georgia, Dr. John McKeon was delighted to get a chance to catch up Douglas Huntley, Global R&D Director at 3M, to chat about what the asthma & allergy friendly® Certification Program means to them.
3M have a range of CERTIFIED asthma & allergy friendly® products, including Filtrete™ Healthy Living Filters (MPR 1500 and above) and a number of air purifiers – the Air Purifier 800 Super CADR and the Ultra Smart Air Purifier models 400, 600 and 800.
In the wake of the pandemic there has been a very clear shift in priorities and focus at this year’s show and Doug was keen to highlight this. The pandemic has made the air we breathe more visible – there is a heightened awareness around what we are breathing and how it is affecting our health. So instead of efficiency metrics being top of the agenda, this year’s show was very much focused on healthy, clean air, how that can be achieved and most importantly, how that claim can be communicated to the consumer. As manufacturers scramble to meet these new consumer demands a ‘confusion of claims’ has become problematic and the buyer is struggling to know what to trust.
The 3M brand promise of “Science Applied to Life” and their belief in third party certification helps eliminate this ‘confusion of claims’. Third party CERTIFIED products, like asthma & allergy friendly® 3M products, provide trust and validation where needed, building consumer confidence and reliability.
Thanks to all the 3M team at the AHR booth in Atlanta – Alana Mitchell, Douglas Huntley, Maureen Rariden, Kelly Ip and Estefania Fernandez 🇨🇴 – for their time
