An Exciting Spring US Trade Mission for ASL

We are gearing up for an action-packed and inspiring Spring US Trade Mission, dedicated to promoting healthier indoor environments and recognizing industry leaders committed to the asthma & allergy friendly® Certification Program. From keynote speeches to prestigious awards, ASL is at the forefront of advocating for healthier living spaces.

From the Frontlines: Lessons on Building for Health from a Former Surgeon General

Spring US Trade MissionThe first event is a high-profile gathering at the Daikin Sustainability and Innovation Center, where former US Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams is set to join iAIR Institute Founder and CEO Dr. John McKeon to share invaluable insights on the future of healthier indoor spaces.

This event promises to be a platform for the exchange of groundbreaking ideas, as participants discuss the latest advancements in IAQ technology and sustainability strategies. With representatives from industry, academia, healthcare, and government expected to attend, the stage is set for fruitful collaboration and the cultivation of healthier indoor environments.

AAAAI Annual Meeting 2024

At the heart of ASL’s mission is the promotion of a holistic approach to managing asthma and allergies, and this will feature prominently at the AAAAI Annual Meeting in Washington DC. ASL’s Healthy Home booth will showcase a range of products donated by various asthma & allergy friendly® CERTIFIED clients, including TarkettDownlite3M FiltreteGranite Gold, Renegade BrandsWicked SheetsKnauf Insulation, True Value, Rabbit Air, and LG. This exhibit will highlight how consumers can effectively manage asthma and allergy triggers through a comprehensive, whole-home approach, leveraging the asthma & allergy friendly® Certification Mark as a trusted guide.

Rabbit Air, a longstanding program client, will receive the “Supporting Healthier Communities Award” for their remarkable community involvement, including contributions to healthcare facilities and active participation in health equity programs such as AAFA’s Health Equity Advancement and Leadership (HEAL) Program.

The iAIR Institute will proudly unveil two important scientific posters at the AAAAI meeting. The first poster, titled “Is there such a thing as Sensitive Airways-Friendly Fragranced Cleaning Products?” explores the intricate realm of fragrance compounds in cleaning products. iAIR Institute researchers, led by Dr. Gráinne Cunniffe, are spearheading the development of assessment methods tailored to fragranced cleaning products, particularly for individuals with sensitive airways. This initiative seeks to provide scientifically verified options to consumers and the medical community, thereby contributing to improved indoor air quality.

Meanwhile, the second poster titled “Guiding your patients on their Indoor Exposome” offers a comprehensive examination of the indoor exposome, emphasizing the vital role of healthcare professionals in educating patients about the factors shaping their indoor environment. By empowering doctors to enlighten patients and recommending informed choices in air quality monitoring and air cleaning technologies, the iAIR Institute aims to foster healthier living spaces and enhance overall health outcomes.

The recognition of our clients will continue throughout the Spring US Trade Mission as True Value, a loyal ASL client since 2018, will be honored with the “ESG and Community” Award later in the week. True Value’s consistent commitment to offering healthier paint options has significantly impacted consumers over the past six years, with thousands of retailers providing asthma & allergy friendly® paint options while simultaneously supporting local communities through donations to underserved areas.

Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) and the International Builders Show (IBS)

Spring US Trade MissionAs the week progresses, the ASL Executive Team eagerly anticipates attending the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) and the International Builders Show (IBS) in Las Vegas, where several esteemed clients, including LG and Benjamin Moore, will be showcasing their innovative products. LG is set to receive the  “Smart Connected Healthier Homes Award” at the 2024 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show, in recognition of their portfolio approach to certification across multiple product categories, including laundry, air care, and floor care. LG’s commitment to enabling consumers to make informed decisions for healthier home environments through interconnected devices exemplifies the core values of the asthma & allergy friendly® Certification Program.
