There is an opportunity to engage with us on carrying out an allergy-aware scientific branding audit. This entails an audit of publicly available information on your product(s) with regards to claims being made in your branding that may be inconsistent with customer needs or regulations, and will include:

  • Review client website, social media, packaging, press releases
  • Highlight unsupported claims, claims that could be improved
  • Assess scientific content, and any gaps and opportunities for improvement
  • Outline any language that could be problematic from a legal and regulatory perspective, such as clinical claims and the use of FDA-regulated terms

If the Scientific Branding Audit is required, your company will provide to ASL:

  • An outline with relevant links to the digital resources you would like analyzed, such as website, social media presence, and advertisements

At the end of this process, you will have a better understanding of the product as it relates to the potential impact on ‘asthma and allergy aware’ individuals with and individuals with hypersensitive airways. ASL will provide you with a path forward in order to substantiate claims made in relation to allergen control and avoidance and a healthier home. If applicable, ASL will also provide a path toward asthma & allergy friendly® Certification in the U.S. and Canada.

Should you accept the Scientific Branding Audit, you will gain a deeper understanding of the allergy aware consumer and those concerned with indoor air quality. This will allow your company to build and target a strategy to the relevant market sector. A review of allergen-related, and health-based marketing claims will allow your team to navigate this sector with expert advice thereby reducing the risk of potential lawsuits or interventions from regulatory bodies such as the EPA and FDA.

Upon commencement, the assessment will be delivered within 3 weeks, dependent on receipt of required information.

What we’ll need from you:

Besides the usual company and contact details, you’ll be asked to sign our agreement prior to issuing an invoice. We’ll also need the specific product information that the Scientific Branding Audit will be related to, including links to relevant digital resources to be analysed such as website, social media presence, and advertisements.

What you can expect from us:

The project will encompass expertise from the Allergy Standards team in scientific research, project management and consumer product assessment. The team can also draw on other resources including patient advocacy groups and a network of testing and industry experts.

Any reports can be used to assist products to qualify for enrolment at a future date within one Allergy Standards’ national or international health-based Certification Programs, including the asthma & allergy friendly® Certification Program.
