Why is ASL attending the event?
The Director of the Certification Program, Michelle Cassalia, will be attending the event to spread the word about our certification program and help cutting-edge companies differentiating their flooring products.
To help flooring companies facing the increasing consumers’ demands for healthier products, we developed the Floor Covering Certification Standard. Several cutting-edge companies, such as Tarkett, submitted a range of their flooring products and those who have passed our standards have earned the asthma & allergy friendly® certification.
How does the certification program allow companies to differentiate their products from competitors’ products?
Our standards have been developed using internationally recognised trigger factor avoidance recommendations including allergens and irritants. The asthma & allergy friendly® mark is then only applied to products that have been subjected to rigorous scientific testing and have passed our standards. The asthma & allergy friendly® mark is not only trusted by consumers affected by asthma and allergies, but also by consumers that simply want to improve the indoor air quality of their homes. Investing in healthier products has become a much more important life style choice for consumers seeking to make informed choices for their families. As breathing good quality indoor air is primordial for good health, and as people are spending more time indoors, developing healthier products free from chemicals, allergens and irritants is essential for companies wanting to differentiate their products.
