As part of the Home Textiles Sourcing Expo last July 2017, Allergy Standards’ CEO, Dr John McKeon had the opportunity to talk with the Managing Editor of the magazine Textile Insight. Owned and operated by Messe Frankfurt, the Home Textiles Sourcing Expo is one of the largest sourcing events in North America for fabrics used to manufacture home textiles. This event was the opportunity for Allergy Standards’ CEO, Dr John McKeon, to meet with several key opinion leaders and members of the trade media attending the event. In a previous article we talked about John McKeon meeting with EcoTextile News’ Editor-In-Chief, in this article we’ll talk about his meeting with Emily Walzer, Textile Insight magasine’s Managing Editor. The rising demand towards healthier products that ensure human health and well-being is pushing manufacturers to develop healthier products tested under strict scientific standards. This is to talk about this new concern that the Managing Editor of Textile Insight magazine met with ASL’s CEO, Dr John McKeon.
Meeting with Emily Walzer, Textile Insight’s Managing Editor
Textile Insight is a magazine that focuses on textile and footwear design, innovation and its exciting product applications. It is edited for apparel and footwear manufacturers, as well as retailers focused on the design and development of their private label collections. The last few years, the magazine started to focus more and more on healthy and sustainable textiles. For instance, an edition published in September 2015 was looking at how sustainability has become a strategic priority for all aspects of the textile business. The discussion between John McKeon and the Managing Director of Textile Insight, Emily Walzer, was then particularly interesting. They talked about rising trend of healthy textiles free from allergens in the apparel and textile industry.
