Steam-Based Clothing Care products that are Certified Asthma & Allergy Friendly are tested to the ASP:20-01/101 Certification Standard.
The Certification Standard utilizes an algorithm of proprietary and recognized scientific techniques to assess Steam-Based Clothing Care products for their ability to reduce house dust mite, bacteria and fungi viability and their potential to affect aspects of indoor air quality.
Submitted products that pass Certification testing are granted a Certificate stating that the Steam-Based Clothing Care product meets the requirements for the Asthma & Allergy Friendly ASP:20-01/101 Certification Standard.
The Steam-Based Clothing Care Certification Standard includes evaluation of the effect of the product on:
- Relative humidity in the surrounding environment & clothing moisture levels
- House dust mite viability
- Bacterial and fungal viability
- Dispersion of bacteria and fungi from contaminated water sources
All Certified Asthma & Allergy Friendly Steam-Based Clothing Care products are associated with a unique Certification code.
