09-04: Laundry Detergent

Laundry Detergents that are CertifiedAsthma & Allergy Friendly^® are tested to the ASP:09-04/101 Certification Standard.

The Certification Standard utilizes an algorithm of proprietary and recognized scientific techniques to assess Laundry Detergents for their allergen and dust mite removal capabilities and their potential to expose the consumer to irritant materials.

Submitted products that pass Certification testing are granted a Certificate stating that the Laundry Detergent meets the requirements for the Asthma & Allergy Friendly^® ASP:09-04/101 Certification Standard.

The Laundry Detergent Certification Standard includes:

1. Allergen removal assessment
2. House dust mite removal and resurgence assessment
3. Constituent review
4. VOC emission analysis of the laundry detergent
5. Evaluation of residual allergenic, irritant, banned or restricted chemicals on fabric post-washing
6. (Where relevant) Evaluation of airborne particle levels during use

All Certified Asthma & Allergy Friendly^® Laundry Detergents carry a unique Certification code.
