Technical Audit

Innovation & Design Thinking For Healthier Environments

Our Service

The following overview covers our recommended approach in working with clients requiring a Technical Audit.

Based on our initial assessment, this will require:

  • Review product specifications
  • Review any testing data the company provides
  • Provide an opinion on the above with regard to factors impacting those with asthma and allergies
  • Suggest potential further testing to fill in the gaps identified above
  • Give an assessment of a pathway to asthma & allergy friendly® Certification.

Using this information, the resulting report will assess suitability and make recommendations on progressing to certification and licencing of the product.

If the Technical Audit is selected, your company will provide to ASL:

  • Technical Product Specs Relevant Testing Results and Reports that are requested to be analysed*

*Provision: Depending on the volume of documentation submitted we may need to increase the cost of this service, if a substantial amount of documentation is submitted for analysis

At the end of this process, you will have a better understanding of the product as it relates to the potential impact on ‘asthma and allergy aware’ individuals with and individuals with hypersensitive airways. ASL will provide you with a path forward in order to substantiate claims made in relation to allergen control and avoidance and a healthier home. If applicable, ASL will also provide a path toward asthma & allergy friendly® Certification in the U.S. and Canada.

Should you accept the Technical Audit, you will gain a deeper understanding of the allergy aware consumer and those concerned with indoor air quality. This will allow your company to build and target a strategy to the relevant market sector. A review of allergen-related, and health-based marketing claims will allow your team to navigate this sector with expert advice thereby reducing the risk of potential lawsuits or interventions from regulatory bodies such as the EPA and FDA.

Build Trust And Reduce Risk Through Technical Audit

More people than ever before are concerned about the air quality in their homes and workplaces. Companies have responded with marketing claims that convey health and environmental benefits of the products they’re selling. But sometimes the benefits conveyed in advertising and on packaging are not substantiated by scientific evidence. This has led to several legal controversies and class-action suits related to deceptive and false advertising, highlighting the disconnect between customer interpretation of claims and the intention of the manufacturers.

Unregulated and misleading claims related to health and indoor air quality can lead to brand damage, legal risk, and financial consequences if used without proper scientific validation. This is where we can help. Our goal is to help you build credibility, protect your brand, and confirm the accuracy of health claims related to IAQ, health conditions such as asthma, allergies, as well as material ingredients.
