Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a scaling, digital health and innovation company.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Sales and Business Development Representative to execute the Sales and Business Development framework and playbook.  A core part of this role is to execute early stage discovery and prescribed lead generation and qualification, as per the sales and business development workflows.

This role is best suited to someone who has demonstrable experience meeting allocated lead qualification targets, building and maintaining KPIs across the prospect process, and managing an end-to end sales process to build on the existing foundations paved by the wider commercial team. 

What you can expect

  • Inbound Sales: Execute, with excellent attention to detail, the discovery and qualification playbook and process
  • Execute engagement activities to generate demand and sales opportunities. 
  • Outbound Sales: Execute the required outreach activities that will create the right number of qualified leads, including detail oriented account research, and proactive telephone, digital, and other outbound activity.
  • Execute outbound sales campaigns to deliver specific campaign metrics and outcomes.
  • Proactively identify new leads, and strategies for engaging with target industries and geographies.
  • Work with the sales, demand generation, and wider team to drive the sales process. 
  • Professionally and enthusiastically represent the company at promotional and industry events.
  • Develop a daily routine that will deliver the necessary activity and outcomes aligned with agreed targets and goals. This involves following a planned daily and monthly schedule of work and activities. The daily activity needs to take into account training and self-development on the job. 
  • Part of your responsibilities is to own the learning and practice required to meet the demands of the lead and prospect pipeline. You will operate to a culture of tracking and reporting on key metrics and ratios. 
  • In time the role is expected to contribute to ‘non-allocated’ early sales opportunities, this skill develops with experience in the business and is supported by having an active ‘listen, learn, practice’ mindset.

What we require

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualifications, with experience in Sales, and Business Development, or other relevant field.
  • 2-3 years of proven experience in a sales and business development representative role. 
  • Fluency in the modern sales tech stack.
  • Ability to self-organise.
  • Ability to follow prescribed process, as well as initiative and creative thinking. 
  • Disciplined approach to reporting accurately and daily. 
  • Demonstrated experience of selling high-value contracts involving multiple decision makers.
  • Proven track record of self-motivation, generating new business, and exceeding targets.
  • We expect you to be a strategic thinker with an analytical mind and strong problem-solving skills.

  • You will secure strong relationships with our new and existing clients to build brand awareness, be a part of effectively scaling our business, and achieve revenue goals through strong sales acumen and building quality relationships.

What You Need To Grow And Succeed in this role 

  • Excellent communicator, able to collaborate with internal Business Development, and build rapport with our customers and partners.
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Experience of business development in a science and/or educational context would be advantageous.
  • Good initiative – eager to contribute to an innovative team in a fast-moving, growing company.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, and ability to coach, to be coached, to influence, and partner with various levels of employees, with high integrity.
  • High capacity for judgment, strong organizational skills, and a sense of urgency.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to effectively handle multiple priorities.
  • You will need to build and maintain a sales pipeline that guarantees the delivery of the monthly target. This is a critical requirement of the role.
