Key Takeaways from ISSA 2022
The key takeaways from ISSA Show North America were themes that are close to our hearts at ASL The hot topics of ESG, UN sustainability development goals, education and training have become very relevant to the business community, building owners, facility managers and cleaning professionals. The evolution of the idea of sustainability to it being a mindset that underpins all decision making processes is now a reality and this is of benefit to all. Chaired by Patricia Olinger, our CEO Dr. John McKeon delivered a keynote at the show entitled ‘Cleaning for Health to Create the Healthiest Possible Indoor Environment’ on how an integrated approach is necessary when cleaning for health.
The value of education and training in the cleaning industry has never been clearer and ISSA 2022 was the perfect event to highlight our joint education program with GBAC -‘Healthier Buildings and Awareness for Performance and Productivity with Global Biorisk Advisory Council and ASL’- and it was wonderful to see the interest from big brands in investing in scholarships for it. At a time when collaboration and learning are essential, this custom program is a crucial tool for the wider cleaning industry. The industry is pushing forward at pace and it is important that the concept of cleaning for health is embedded in its core philosophy.
Meeting with CERTIFIED clients, colleagues, old friends and partners was such a pleasure and we were delighted to see Renegade Brands take pride in their CERTIFIED asthma & allergy friendly® Free and Clear laundry detergent- the first ever CERTIFIED laundry detergent. It was great to meet up with our friends from True Value and have an opportunity to chat with John Barrett executive director of ISSA and Stephen Ashkin, the Father of Green Cleaning.
