EEBA Plenary Session Dr. John McKeon

We are delighted to announce that the EEBA High Performance Home Summit 2021 is being opened by our CEO Dr. John McKeon. He will be joined by Gord Cooke, Professional Engineer and CEO of Construction Instruction, for a presentation entitled Healthy, Wealthy, and Wise: How the pursuit of healthy buildings, that are good for people, planet, and profits, is the way forward for purpose-driven professionals.

The presentation will explore how building professionals can unlock key skills to provide a better built environment in an era where emphasis on engineering and energy efficiency is being replaced by a more people-centred design that is of benefit to all. This is an opportunity for building professionals, including designers and architects; suppliers and manufacturers of building products; and those interested in the future of construction and design to learn from industry experts on how to create a healthier indoor environment.

“Indoor air can be two to five times more polluted than outdoor air, and having good indoor air quality is a crucial part of living in a healthy home,” said Dr. McKeon.  “The challenge for building professionals is to move the conversation on from a purely engineering focus such as heating, ventilation, and energy efficiency, to a healthy focus based on the perspectives of the people living in the dwelling.”
