This week’s edition of Floor Covering Weekly (FCW) has a feature on our collaboration with flooring manufacturers Tarkett.
The article, titled Collaboration for Clean Air, by Katie Batkin tells the story of a partnership that is much more than simply commercial, it is a collaboration to create and promote a built environment that has a positive impact on people. It is the health of the people that is top of mind. As our CEO, Dr. John McKeon, says
“We see part of our work with Tarkett as being that bridge from being planet friendly and also people friendly”
Tarkett began its journey with us with just one of its products. Today, it has a whole portfolio of CERTIFIED floors, including their Powerbond RS, the world’s first soft surface flooring to achieve the asthma & allergy friendly certification, demonstrating a clear commitment to the health and wellbeing of consumers. Powerbond is commonly used in educational settings so the asthma & allergy friendly® certification is particularly important, explains Roxane Spears vice president of sustainability of Tarkett North America, in the FCW article.
“We have had an unbelievably powerful response with Powerbond being certified. It’s been exciting for our sales team as well to show something that’s such a differentiator in the marketplace”
The future is bright for our partnership with Tarkett, and we are looking forward to continued success and expansion both with Tarkett and with other like minded mission driven manufacturers.
“We’re looking forward to expanding our partnership with Tarkett but also using their channel and their network to actually spread our mission,” said McKeon. “We’re a mission and purpose-driven organization. We’re going to improve lives. We want to help people breathe healthier air.”
