The week running up to St. Patrick’s Day was packed full of wonderful events that honored, celebrated and strengthened our Ireland-U.S. Relationships
Enterprise Ireland
Our executive team began the week meeting with Enterprise Ireland Chairman Terence O’Rourke, SVP Rory Power, and SVP of Construction Marisa Mannion in New York City. Here, Dr. John McKeon along with Rusty Joyce, President of Tarkett Commercial, shared the news of Tarkett’s Powerbond® RS as the world’s first CERTIFIED asthma & allergy friendly® Soft Surface Flooring. This new addition to the Tarkett CERTIFIED portfolio demonstrates Tarkett’s commitment to help people #StayWell by breathing healthy indoor air,
American Chamber of Commerce Ireland
Next up was the launch of the annual report of the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland – ‘Strengthening Transatlantic Ties’. An Tánaiste Micheál Martin was keynote speaker and the event was a special opportunity to meet up with old friends and new, including Rory Power and Consul General Helena Nolan. Having won the Amercan Chamber of Commerce Award for Innovation in the past we have had personal experience of the great work they do on behalf of Irish businesses and Ireland-U.S. relationships.
Ireland Funds National Gala
As avid supporters of philanthropy and cultural heritage, we were excited to attend The Ireland Funds National Gala in Washington DC. This esteemed annual event brings together some of the most prominent leaders from business, government, and the arts to celebrate Irish culture and support important causes. It is a unique opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals who share our passion for making a difference in the world. This year our guests from Knauf Insulation North America ,Green Seal, the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM), the American Cleaning Institute and Tarkett enjoyed live music, traditional Irish dancers, and a celebration of our rich culture. The Speaker of the US House of Representatives Kevin McCarthy and US Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer were honoured at the event.
We are so proud to be part of this celebration of ties, heritage and friendship between Ireland and the US that has people and their wellbeing at its heart. We would like to thank Alex Buzby, Randall Cooper of Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) and his wife Sheryl, Doug Gatlin CEO of Green Seal, Melissa Hockstad CEO of the American Cleaning Institute, Kenneth Mendez CEO of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, Jackie Passaro of Tarkett and Nathan Walker of Knauf Insulation North America for the pleasure of their company in celebrating the amazing work done by The Ireland Funds and strengthening Ireland-U.S. relationships.
Our vision at ASL is to create a #onehealth world where healthy people live on a healthy planet and it was inspirational to spend the evening with those who believe this is possible.
American Cleaning Institute
While in DC we gratefully accepted the invite to meet with the American Cleaning Institute. The ACI is instrumental in raising awareness and promoting education for its members and for consumers. Their insights are key to empowering people to make better buying choices and to help them understand that ”air is the new surface”. Choosing healthier products can make a real difference to health and wellbeing so this informed decision-making is crucial for consumers.
Thanks so much to Melissa Hockstad, Brian Sansoni and Kristin DiNicolantonio for their time and hospitality.
Downlite
At a very busy New York Spring Market we were thankful that our friends at DOWNLITE took the time to meet with us. Beth Mack and Jannice Cameron-Chapital have been great advocates of the asthma & allergy friendly Certification Program and we look forward to many more years of continued partnership.
