Dr. John McKeon, CEO of Allergy Standards, and the asthma & allergy friendly® Certification Program team were delighted to present at the 2021 Global Health & Wellness Summit, part of the Greenbuild International Conference & Expo.
The 2021 Global Health & Wellness Summit
The session was entitled “Prioritizing healthy indoor air quality in the design, building and use of our homes” and explored the factors that influence indoor air quality (IAQ), such as building materials, ventilation, humidity and occupant activities. It was wonderful to see so many professionals attending John’s presentation and to experience their interest and desire to learn more on this subject.
Thanks to the USGBC for offering ASL this fantastic opportunity and for organising such an important event.
Thanks also to Dr. John Ryan for fielding the Q&A and to all those who submitted questions. This was a unique opportunity to share the work that ASL are doing and to spread the word on the design, construction and management of the built environment to optimize healthier indoor air. At a time more critical than ever, the impact of poor IAQ on our health demands examination, with a particular focus on how indoor pollution can exacerbate respiratory disorders. It is critical that we address the subject of healthier materials & measures for building projects, and how these can ultimately support the integration of healthy IAQ strategies into the design of a building.
The enthusiastic attendance at this event demonstrates that now is the time for building professionals, including designers and architects; suppliers and manufacturers of building products; and those interested in the future of construction and design to learn from industry experts on how to create a healthier indoor environment. Many of these key topics are delivered in our Healthier Homes Awareness For Building Professionals online education course.
The Certification Program team are looking forward to exhibiting virtually as a main feature at the Greenbuild 2021 International Conference & Expo, September 21-23. Attendees are encouraged to visit the interactive digital booth to engage with and learn more about the asthma & allergy friendly® Certification Program and find out more about the Program’s partnership between Allergy Standards Limited (ASL) and the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America. This will be a wonderful opportunity for attendees to meet some of the team including Elisabeth Yazdzik, US Business Development Manager, and Laura Dulligan, Customer Success Manager for the Certification Program who will be available for Q&A. Dr. John Ryan from the ASL science team will also be on standby to respond to technical enquiries.
