Frankfurt, Germany, January 2010 Dr. Tim Yeomans, Senior Scientific Researcher with Allergy Standards Limited, recently attended the Heimtextil International Trade Fair (www.heimtextil.de). It is one of the world's largest trade fairs for those in the home and contract textiles industry. The trade fair, held in Frankfurt, was attended by 72,000 visitors and hosted nearly 2,500 exhibitors from 60 countries.
Exhibitors spanned a wide range of products including flooring, bedding, upholstery, window treatments, clothing, toys, etc. ASL certify a range of textile based products as being asthma & allergy friendly™ and as such the Heimtextil Trade Fair is a key event in the ASL calendar. In particular, bedding is given a prominent role at the Trade Fair and under the Certification Program, ASL certify pillows, duvets, comforters and a range of bedding encasings. The Certification Program will be launching in the United Kingdom in the coming months and the European textile market is therefore of great importance where sourcing and certification of quality materials is concerned.
The purpose of attendance at the Trade Fair was to meet with potential clients in Europe who wished to certify their products as asthma & allergy friendly™ . Certifying products as asthma & allergy friendly™ enables those suffering from asthma and allergies to identify products that are more suitable for them, and also acts as a powerful differentiator for those manufacturers and retailers who wish to set their product apart from their competitors.
If Dr. Yeomans was unable to meet with you at Heimtextil 2010, or indeed if you were unable to attend, and are interested in Certification, please contact
