Dr John O’Mahony, Founder and PresidentDr John O’Mahony,
Co-Founder and Director

Dr. John O’Mahony is the co-founder and Director of Allergy Standards Limited.  Dr O'Mahony is a trained surgeon and medical doctor and holds a membership from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. 

Dr O'Mahony is responsible for the asthma & allergy friendly™ Certification Program in Canada with the Asthma Society of Canada.

 

Rea O’Neill
Director

Rea joined the Dublin Institute of Technology in 1968 and set up the Industrial Liaison Office. As part of the Industrial Liaison Office, in 1983 he established the Project Development Centre to build awareness and provide practical support for enterprise and product development.

He helped to spearhead the Enterprise Platform and Postgraduate Skills Programs. He is a founding member and the current Chairman of the Bolton Trust, an independent trust whose mission is to support the development of enterprise. He established the SES Fund in 1998.

Robert Jenkins
Director

Robert Jenkins an Investor from the Beer Group. Robert Jenkins has a degree in Chemistry from Birmingham University and an MBA from Manchester Business School. He joined Coopers & Lybrand Associates in 1977 where he spent five years as a management consultant in the Corporate Studies Group in London and Toronto.

He spent a year with Rank Travel in product development before joining the Prudential as an associate director of its venture capital group. In 1985 he was a founder partner of Phildrew Ventures and went on to raise five private equity funds before the Phildrew business was acquired by UBS. He is currently a director of Bridgepoint and manages a number of their European private equity investments

Richard Thomas
Director

Mr Thomas is CEO of Binary Investments Ltd, a venture capital company based in Ireland. Binary was one of the early investors in ASL

Richard has an extremely successful track record in developing small/medium sized businesses into profitable companies. A graduate Geologist he soon discovered his strength in sales and marketing. He worked for and then co-owned a series of international media and publishing companies. He founded and controlled Century House Information, a global publishing group, before selling it to a public company in 1996. Since then he has been active both as an individual and corporately in advising and investing in a large number of business ventures in Europe and the U.S.A. covering a broad spectrum of activities.

Peter Turvey
Director

Mr Peter Turvey, the former President of PlayMates Canada, and now a major soft toy and bedding distributor, has over 30 years experience in the international bedding and toy industries. Peter joined the Board of Directors in January 2002.
